I've noticed this also on my system (Ubuntu Natty, running Ubuntu
Classic no effects without Compiz). I have a Dell 1420 laptop with an
Intel video 'card' (Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated
Graphics Controller according to Hardinfo). I notice it in the classic
Gnome panels a lot,

This has happened to me twice today. Both times it seemed to start while
in Firefox, but switching to other programs or closing them just seemed
to 'spread' the corruption to the entire desktop. Tried closing and
restarting apps, going into Gnome Appearance and changing fonts,
switching to Virtual

This should be closed. After I reinstalled Thunderbird I had the same issue,
and went and after searching Gmail's support, I found they do NOT implement
true POP email; they keep track themselves of what email clients access the
account, and will not POP to multiple clients, without special
) for files
that are not being used and no longer relate to an installed package
(for example a library with nothing using it).

contiguous or non-contiguous) there is no place you can see the number
of messages you have

Same thing is happening here. The blubuntu-look appears to depend on
blubuntu-theme, which depends on gtk2-engines-ubuntulooks, and trying to
install that wants to remove human-theme, ubuntu-artwork ubuntu-
desktop.

save. I just leave the extension off and Linux knows
how to handle it.

remove the file extension from all my *.swf files and
