Works for me too on a Dell Studio 1749.
Steps:
1. Create new file /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-suspend.conf with the
following two lines:
blacklist firewire_core
blacklist firewire_ohci
2. Run: sudo update-initramfs -u
3. Reboot and check that the modules were not loaded by running: lsmod |
grep

I've switched the Status back to New since in Karmic, the *04.bst files
are still not in the texmf tree:
$ ls /usr/share/texmf-texlive/bibtex/bst/aguplus
agu.bst agufull.bst
But over on CTAN there are two corresponding *04.bst files:

This camera works in Karmic. Yeah! Therefore I'm switching the Status

Yes, it is still reproducible in 8.10.
The package in 8.10 is texlive-publishers (2007.dfsg.2-1ubuntu1). The
description says:
This package contains the following CTAN packages:
...
aguplus -- Styles for American Geophysical Union.
...
The texlive-publishers package provides these files
All of the /dev/hdXY names will have been changed to /dev/sdXY. The
upgrade did not modify my mdadm.conf file for me and may not have

I've upgraded from 6.06 to 8.04 (that's dapper to hardy) and had this
problem.
I had the same fsck error as reported above. At the maintenance shell
mount -a mounted all the parititions and them CTRL+D would continue to
boot.
In short, my /dev/sda1 is /boot. The fstab was updated with

publishers 2007-3 still has the old agu files. The new bst files and

I've contacted Patrick Daly to ask if he will upload the most recent
versions of his files to CTAN. The files currently on CTAN (as of right

This sound similar to the problem I've had. If I accidentally kill X by
CTRL+ALT+Backspace when I log back into gnome beagled always has
crashed. Usually these accidental X killings are because I hit the wrong
key when entering some unicode text.

i've had a similar problem with an upgrade from 5.10 to 6.06 (breezy to
dapper).
the orinoco module is getting loaded before the hostap modules. this,
in turn, loads the orinoco_pci and hermes modules. as a result when
hostap comes around and tries to load the firmware into my DLinkDWL520E1
