I got the bug after just turning off and on window spread.
I managed to fix the bug by reinstalling xorg-server with this tutorial:

After reinstalling the xorg server, ubuntu desktop, unity tweak tools
and a reboot;
@thomas303: E10S (which triggers this issue) was only enabled in FF 51 when
using non-whitelisted plugins.
So this might be the difference between previous versions. Where disabling all
the plugins enabled E10S, and thus caused the issue.

I run Ubuntu Gnome 14.10 with Gnome 3.14 installed from gnome3-team's
staging PPA as suggested above. I also installed updates from xorg-
edgers. Even after this, graphics are still more sluggish than they were
on 14.04:
- HD video playback is slow and shows artefacts,
- background transparency

Since 10.04 (fresh install) I was affected by this bug and this other one :
Bug #1240198 (Wrong keyboard layout active after booting into desktop)
Suprisingly the two bugs are linked, but think about all shortcuts
affected here.

Can you do a 'cryptsetup luksDump' on the device?
Its just not possible that a device gets uncrypted without any password or
keyfile.
