The lock-up issue hasn't occured to me anymore, however, the connection
is still quite unstable, Connection strength alternates between full and
only 1 bar (in networkmanager), often loosing connection. After a
connection loss, rmmod and modprobe ath9k resolves it and I'm back
online

Just installed linux 2.6.38-9.43 from ubuntu proposed. This seems to
resolve this issue in intial testing. Old behaviour was a direct lock-

logging indicates a message should be shown to the user (allowing a
choice to accept the certificate), though none is shown. Mentioned
workaround does not seem to work. Pidgin does the right thing by asking

is I don't think this will do me any good. On Hardy/Intrepid I ran
always on the latest SVN version of those drivers and crashes were quite
frequent there. No instant lock up, but a after a while (hour or 2) it

backport-modules was present, for the newer kernels it wasn't. Now
running .15 with backport and as you can see the network connection
works...

The crash originated from the LiveCD version of Jaunty. Upgrade to the
.12 release of the kernel fixes the crash, though I'm still left with
the occasional failure to connect to/disconnect from the wireless router
(linksys wrtn160). I've reverted the upgrade to .13 of the kernel as

I have a Linksys WMP300N Wireless-N PCI Adapter (EU-model) with an
Atheros AR5416 chipset. If I try to connect to the wireless network,
from a Jaunty LiveCD, the computer instantly freezes. Problems with
these chipset are present since Hardy, where using the SVN Madwifi
Any progress on this issue? It's the main reason why I'm still on 8.04
using a custom build madwifi driver, which locks up my system at least 3
times a day. Is there any way I can help speed up the process?
