I have found this issue while developing a small game. I have now tested with a
minimal pygame loop and the problem can be reproduced (randomly).
After a few minutes running the python process CPU usage from the running
pygame loop jumps from 10% to =100%.

This is a random issue, not something that you can reliably validate

I gave a try to Fedora 13 and I did not experienced the problem, based
on the fact that Fedora uses 2.6.33 I decided to test the
2.6.33-02063306-generic from the mainline kernel builds. I was not able
to reproduce the problem yet, this is likely a bug introduced with
2.6.33+ .

I am having the same issue, same font. I don't see how the font is
related to the problem. The truncation is random, sometimes the full
