That didn't work for me either (chili555's method). Got the same result as
Nicolas above.
Tried dave's instructions in comment 276 and it worked!
Also I tried everything in here on fedora 22 but I couldn't get make to work. I
think I got this one time:

VLC in OpenGL mode works fine on my laptop, and I just found the reason for the

Somehow, it decided to use libGL.so.0 from /usr/X11R6/lib, a directory not

I get the same error (in Hardy).
However, I also get that error when I run glxinfo or glxgears, and

I have the same problem with Ubuntu (32-bit) and an Intel 945GM. It
doesn't seem to matter whether I use compiz or not.

I've found out that X always crashes if I launch tvtime and after

It seems as if the usb-storage module constantly restarts the modem.
Using rmmod to unload the usb-storage module (when the modem is active

help. This might have something to do with that the modem also em
I also still have this problem with my Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pi 1505.

Discard that thing about the progress bars, they DO update, I just
misunderstood the code and didn't test it properly.

I managed to get the latest upstream version (1.2.23) running in gutsy
(with gutsy's latest stock kernel) by compiling my own linux-ubuntu-
modules package, but the problem was still there. Now I'm confused.

Martin,
So there is apparently a difference between running hardy's current
kernel in gutsy and running hardy current. As I said, iwl3945 worked
flawlessly for me with hardy's kernel in gutsy...

I did a little investigation about this with gutsy's drivers. It seems
to me that the signal level (reported by iwconfig) is the same with both
drivers, but the noise level is significantly different (iwl reports
about twice the amount that ipw reports). Standing right next to my AP,
ipw gives me u
Whoops, I noticed a small bug in my patch. The network tool tips (shown on
mouse-over of the network items in the menu) used the wrong information.
Here is a new patch, made in the same way as the previous one.
Perhaps I should mention that I'm testing this patch against gutsy packages

Here is the promised debdiff. I built it from hardy's sources and added a new
patch (in debian/patches, of course) which makes knetworkmanager behave just
like nm-applet in this matter.
Runs fine on my laptop (and updates live, like it should).
P.S. Sorry for erroneously changing the bug status

I'd like to reopen this bug as it still happens for me in gutsy (also
with the package from hardy ("backported" to gutsy) and upstream SVN). I
also have an ipw3945, and the bug appears both with the ipw3945 and the
iwl3945 drivers.
I did some investigation last night and found that the problem is

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: uswsusp
When you shutdown your *buntu computer, the usplash progress bar goes

First of all, I have a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pi 1505.
I have the same issue as well, the above file doesn't solve the issue
completly, but it makes it a little bit better.
But it also makes things way worse, it makes the volume level go up to
100% and I can not set it any lower. (I had to turn of
'eeprom' module (and removing it from /etc/modules), and
everything was happy again. :) That module apparently often causes
problems with AIGLX and the result is mostly a black screen.
