I have been running kernel 4.8.7 64bit (from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/%7Ekernel-ppa/mainline/v4.8.7/) for a few days now. Appears to work OK with my hardware and fixes the USB problem. : AMD A10-7700K Radeon R7, 10 Compute Cores 4C+6G and NVIDIA Geforce GTX 750/PCIe/SSE2 with 367.57 driver.

I have found that the delay is related to the network-manager that is in the system tray. I have removed the system tray from the panel. Then added digital clock, clipboard, volume control and available device widgets instead. This solves the delay. Adding the "networks" widget to the desktop
