Suspend to RAM is a really, really important feature for a lot of
people. If nobody that uses Ubuntu with ATI drivers can recover from
suspend... that's bad. That's really bad. In fact, it meets the
definition of High imporance:
Has a moderate impact on a large portion of Ubuntu users (estimated)
Feisty now uses 2.6.20, and I haven't seen the problem in a long time.

There are several issues here:
1. The binary drivers (FATAL: Error running install command for fglrx)
2. A font issue (font 'fixed' cannot be found)
3. A kernal issue (kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount
root fs on unknown-block(0,0))
Number 1 should be fixed by the dist-upgrade

Your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file has references to /dev/wacom (tablet PC
stuff). It used to be that these lines were mostly harmless... perhaps
this has changed.
You could remove the wacom lines and let us know
This just popped up again in Feisty... when I dist-upgraded today (Feb
27 2007), my X server wouldn't start.
My cure was to change all of the:
FontPath/usr/share/X11/fonts/misc
FontPath/usr/share/X11/fonts/100dpi
etc. lines to:
FontPath/usr/share/fonts/X11/misc
FontPath

Please test if you can... I see 'SET_NETWORK 0 eap MSCHAPV2' ...
response was 'OK' in NetworkManager's output, so it seems to be
interacting properly with wpa_supplicant. I am, however, having
(unrelated) problems with the campus wireless, so I wouldn't call my
testing complete.

Feisty ships with libgpod-0.4.0, but Amarok is (apparently) still build
against libgpod-0.3.x. This is a problem for new iPods, and a simple
recompile against 0.4.0 is all the fix that is required.

Can't open default user face happens as KDM is opening (and removing
my ~/.face.icon has nothing to do with it).

assigned to the groups audio,video,plugdev,etc. by pam_group (using the

It should be noted: installing /etc/ati/fglrxrc from the RPMs on the ATI
website means that one less Can't open configuration file message
appears, but the segfault still happens.

I have this problem, too.
It's really sad... I was quite impressed when I installed Dapper (KDE
3.5.4, I think) and put a DVD in the drive. The DVD icon popped up
(*not* the CD icon, like it does now), and the icon's label was
BATMAN_BEGINS, not cdrom0.

/etc/dbus-1/system.d/hal.conf), USB sticks started showing up with
