I tried natty beta 2 today hoping for progress. Still experiencing this
bug. As I boot a LiveCD, I get graphics fine, then when boot finishes,
my HDTV reports a signal with an unsupported resolution.

Thanks to Albert, I can confirm this was an upstream kernel issue. I
tried Natty Alpha 1 with a 2.6.37 kernel and my network works again.
I've marked this bug as a duplicate of #619841.

I experienced this bug as well and reported it separately (see #616984).
Based on Albert's hints, I tried Natty Alpha 1 with a 2.6.37 kernel and
my network works again. Thus, I believe this is a duplicate of #619841.

Lucid, Maverick, and Natty Alpha 1 set the wrong resolution for my HDTV
display (both VGA and HDMI). I'm guessing it's a kernel mode setting
bug because it worked fine until Lucid.
I have an Intel DG965WH motherboard with integrated Intel G965 graphics.

@Mathieu Trudel,
Hi Mathieu. Thank you for replying.
There is a DHCP server on the network. It successfully assigns the same
IP to the machine for every lease based on the machine's MAC address.
I'm running 9.10 Karmic on the machine now, and it picks up an IP just
fine.

What's really needed is a *new* icon. Preferably of a television.
After a new mythtv install, I usually create a desktop shortcut to MythTV

I upgraded to 8.04 over the weekend, so I am able to test this bug again

Upstream bug #4764 may account for others' problems, but I doubt it was
the cause of my original report as it was traced to a commit (16234)
