I attached the GPU dumps of the error situation taken by the
intel_gpu_dump from intel-gpu-tools 1.0.2. There are two dumps: the
dump_flicker.txt which is taken when the display is flickering and

I am using Xubuntu desktop (gdm, x-session-manager, xfwm4, etc.).
Whenever I logout, I choose the option Save session for future logins.
Most applications (e.g., Firefox, gnome-terminal, evince) are restored
properly when I login. However, more

auml; ) got temporarily corrupted.
Although, reinstalling msttcorefonts did the trick for me, I sincerely
concur with the above, that a working office suite must be included in
the normal repositories.

By doing some googling, I was able to find a workaround. By default the
bitmap fonts are disabled, so you need to run these two commands:
1) sudo dpkg-reconfigure fontconfig-config
Answer the questions, and specifically, answer yes to the question about
enabling bitmap fonts.
2) sudo
Still occurs in up-to-date Gutsy and KDE 3.5.8.
