Last night I went about getting thinkfinger packaged and uploaded on my
ppa. It works in Gutsy, but there are many rough edges. If you're
feeling gutsy, you can add my ppa and see just how well it works.
More importantly, it's not bioapi. I'll take a look at that this
weekend and see whether

Clearly the upgrade didn't add user tom to the admin group, or possibly even
create one.

1. run gksudo users-admin
2. Click manage groups

I can confirm that hotkeys_over_acpi does not work in edgy, and that
ktoshkeysd crashes. It didn't cause xorg to hang on my nvidia driver,
but I can't change brightness or mute the volume since ktoshkeysd

I recently upgraded my Toshiba Tecra M7 from dapper to edgy (full
reinstall). Previously, the Fn keys were operating, but now they fail
to work, and don't create any ACPI events, judging from /var/log/acpid.

On further investigation, it seems the toshiba_acpi module won't load.

I have gnome-power-management to set the screen idle never and it
still goes off after 20 minutes. My fix was to go into xorg.conf and
just comment out the DPMS line for the monitor. So at least, there's a
workaround. Probably not acceptable for laptops though.

monitor goes to standby
I have the same problem. The spacing is too wide on both the left and
right. Tried looking into gconf, but the only setting I found was which
app to launch for the Configure button.
