I've had the same problem over the last couple of days on a new Jaunty
install. My machine is a Dell Inspiron 1525. I'm already using AHCI
mode according to the bios. I'm going to try one reinstall and if I
can't get it to work, I'm going to have to back the version back down.
This is a really
My computer is using the ata_piix driver, so it looks like we all have
that in common. My bios already says that I'm using the AHCI mode
though... so that's strange.

Another reason this is a bug is due to the way nautilus will handle
files that are not executable but have the correct extension.
For example, on my system I've set up an association for jar files to be
executed by the jvm. This is great if the jar file is intended to be
executed. It works just

Thanks. I know longer own the laptop where this was a problem so I
can't try out the fix.
I do appreciate your letting me know.

Hi,

I'm running Dapper. This is actually the biggest problem I have with
the release. I can't use a real monitor with my laptop because of
this.

I'm not sure this is gnome-panel or gnome-panel2. I'm just taking a

Apparently this is still happening for me even after the gconf edit

I was thinking about this a bit and started to wonder. Everything works
fine under X on both screens until you decided to use Gnome. Isn't this

I'm having the same problem, but I don't know if it is still a problem

I think this might be related to bug #38795. Does everyone that has a
