I've had the same problem over the last couple of days on a new Jaunty
install.  My machine is a Dell Inspiron 1525.  I'm already using AHCI
mode according to the bios.  I'm going to try one reinstall and if I
can't get it to work, I'm going to have to back the version back down.
This is a really severe bug.

I'll check to see what driver I'm using and see if it matches that
specified above.  I should note that this is still a problem on July
31st with all the latest updates.  It really needs to be corrected.
