1.Connected to the Samba share manually and no problem mounting etc.
Opened the share directly from LibreOffice Writer and the file came up
as "read only" but this time no dialog box.

and install in a VirtualBox ..however booting from USB media to a
machine resulted in - installer failed to start.

their default file managers.

In order to reproduce the crash this is the proceedure you need to use -
1. Open in this order - calc,draw,impress (do not select a template at this
time,proceed and select math and then writer from the menu.
2. Now select the vivid template (which should be on the
@seb128 -Sebastien -- the tests we did were in Lubuntu not Xubuntu .. I
have only been able to preoduce this in Lubuntu Hirsute so far. Will try
to run a few more tests in the other flavors.

Did some more testing on the Lenovo V14 IIL box and thought it might prove
interesting to try other
Linux distro´s - Manjaro KDE Minimal and openSUSE Leap KDE - both fail to boot
in all boot modes.
Also in these tests the media is also called "Linpus Lite".

fails to boot in UEFI with/without secure boot. I am also convinced that
the BIOS in the machine is the cause of the failures my USB media is
also shown as #Linpus Lite" unless I boot in BIOS mode.

Prior to the install Lubuntu Groovy was installed on the computer

I can confirm this.
Firefox reports my location as :

Reykjavik Iceland
calamares has selected 'New York' as my location,
Region:America

I then manually selected Iceland as location and continued with the
install.
After installation and reboot the location is

Looked further into this and the solution is 2 add these 2 lines to the LXQt
session settings

Tested on Lubuntu 20.04.1 LTS and Groovy Lubuntu daily ISO 20200930 and
can confirm this.
As a workaround run in terminal:
sudo apt install libreoffice-kf5
followed by:
sudo apt remove libreoffice-qt5

Retested the Lenovo V14 with the workaround with mkusb-dus worked very
well and I can now confirm all my boxes now booting sucessfully in UEFI
modes with and without secure boot enabled.

tested the daily isoś for Xubuntu and Kubuntu 20200928 and also received
failures to boot
in UEFI mode on the Lenovo V14 IIL,Intel Core i3-1005G!,8GB,256GB SSD box.
I then tried Lubuntu,Kubuntu and Xubuntu using releases 20.04.1 and had
no problems booting in UEFI+secure boot.

on my Dell [Optiplex] 7010 ( i5-3470 , 16 GB, Intel Graphics 2500, Intel

unbootable. The machine was set to boot in UEFI with secure boot mode.

Tested 2 machines http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/daily-live/20200915.5/
Both machines booted in BIOS mode and UEFI+secure boot mode with no errors.
The machines tested were:

desktop-amd64.iso with the same results. BIOS boot successful and UEFI +
secure boot - USB media not found.

Just tested 2 barbone machines that boot successfully in BIOS mode.
However when attempting to boot the media in UEFI+secure boot mode the media is
not even detected. Hence failure.
The machines tested were:
Dell [Inspiron] 3521
Acer [Aspire] E3-111-P60S
Also please note that on the p
Lubuntu Groovy desktop amd64 daily of 20200913 fails to boot with "isolinux.bin
missing or corrupt"
error when booting in BIOS mode.
Tested 3 laptops for BIOS boot - all failed but booted normally in UEFI
and UEFI+secure boot modes. USB media created with "Startup Disk Creator
and/or sudo dd bs=
