Just got today a Lenovo Ideapad 14ILI05, Core i5 based, and no touchpad working.
I've tried with kubuntu 19.10 since AdrienM said it was working with this

I don't see what change could have created this regression.
First, do not use virtual machine. They often make the things more complex to
debug.
Second, try to re-install a previous version of Ubuntu to check it was working

Casey, it looks like the problem is related to the use of a "Yubico Yubikey NEO
U2F+CCID" device.
Unfortunately I do not have such a device myself so I can't reproduce the
problem here :-(

Can you do:
sudo LIBUSB_DEBUG=99 pcscd -dfaT | tee log.txt
and add to this bug the created log.txt file?

can't reproduce the problem :-(
I could connect a CCID reader and a USB mass storage with no problem on pcscd.
Can you reproduce the problem in a Virtual Machine on your side?

I have the same unmet dependencies and broken packages issue when trying
to install qt5-default but the solution proposed by Nicholas on
2015-09-11 didn't work for me. Nicholas's solution also results in held
broken packages. Ubuntu 14.04.

If you use --disable-libudev you use use the older hotplug mechanism.
