Welcome/Boutique already falls back to its language "de" if its locale
("de_DE") isn't available. However in this case, it does exist, but it's
translations are incomplete. Each locale combination are treated as
separate entities.
You can force the application to use de by specifying:
I'd say a duplicate of #1681041.
It's because there's two locales -- German (de, 100%) and German
[Germany] (de_DE, 15%) but your system is using de_DE and translations
inherit English where missing.
For Welcome, these localised versions (e.g. de_DE) should probably be
deprecated and stick to
I've looked at the error's stack trace and can replicate the problem.
This only occurs on arm64 systems when trying to use the Software
"Boutique" facility. The affected Xenial version (16.04.9.1) does not
have any software listed for arm64 hence the error, but the application
doesn't crash.

Translations for "de_DE" are incomplete (15%), but "de" is 100%. Meaning
that users with the "German (Germany)" locale will see these incomplete
translations. Plus, translations in the current package were last synced
on 25-Mar-2017.

The packages have been updated for the upcoming 17.04, but also 16.04
and 16.10 via the PPA (by clicking on "subscribe for updates"
It should be noted that for Opera users in the meantime, you should
disable the auto-update feature within Opera and manually correct the
"https://; typo in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/opera-stable.list as root.
For example, from the terminal:
$ sudo pluma /etc/apt/sources.list.d/opera-stable.list
It appears Software Boutique does add this source correctly, but Opera's
packaging has a typo in their "postinst" script which overwrites this
file.
This needs reporting to Opera to be fixed in their packaging upstream,
otherwise the other choice is to drop it from Software Boutique.

Pointer
This update has introduced a regression for the Ubuntu MATE flavour on
Compiz desktops whereby the cursor is now invisible, a black X or only
appearing in some programs.

The update for Compiz to fix bug #1359211 has a regression where the
cursor has been affected for some users. The issue is not present under
Marco.

- I ran updates fro the Ubuntu Software center and afterwards could not
- see my pointer, however I could hover over icons in my plank and see
- that the pointer was working, just not visible. I opened a browser and
- pointer was again visible, however it is a black "X"
Confirmed. There doesn't seem to be any packages for this in Xenial
(16.04) at the moment. This might be temporary or they could have been
withdrawn.

Additional re-coloured icons for Ambiant-MATE / Radiant-MATE

As mentioned in bug report #1509712, two additional icons have also been
re-coloured so the entire Ambiant-MATE and Radiant-MATE use the Ubuntu
MATE "Green" desktop instead of Unity's "purple" look.
Updated icons:
* categories → preferences-system-network
* categories →
Here's an updated archive containing re-coloured icons for 'preferences-
desktop' and 'preferences-system-network' to complete the re-colouring
of the desktop to Ubuntu MATE's green which I had overlooked.
There is also a problem with the 24 computer icon being used instead of
the 48 one for
the sources list
prior to installing the software.
