Hi, I did remove all radeon related packages, but it didn't solve the problem. It even introduced me a new bug (344640). The brightness of the laptop is very low and it can't be changed. Luckily I have my external monitor attached as well, so I still can read this ;-) #apt-get remove --purge

The additional brightness bug (344640) has been fixed after updating the latest patches (2007-03-30). As describe above in the work around, I removed the libdri.so that was part of the xorg-driver-fglrx by copying it to another folder. After removing all radeon packages I made a mistake to copy

Hi, I just upgraded my laptop (Lenovo T61) to Ubuntu 9.04 and now I'm experiencing the same problems. After a boot of the system I don't get the graphical login, it is only showing me a nice color palette (more like a knitted sweater). Also magic keys like Ctrl-Alt-BackSpace, Ctrl- Alt-F1, etc
