I'm trying to install debug symbols for libstdc++. However, I get errors
that this package relies on other packages that cannot be installed. One
example is lib64gomp1-dbg, I could only find (and install)
lib64gomp1-dbg:i386.
Here's the aptitude output:

I'm seeing this issue too. Every time this log message appears in my
logs, my network connection fails, and I have to reboot before being
able to reconnect to the network.

Damnit. It turns out I did have another channel without a defined chatnet.
Sorry about that.
It works now. I just added 5 channels (after removing that channel without a
defined chatnet), saved the config and restarted irssi, and they were all still
there.

I've checked the irssi config, and it seems every time I add a channel,
the last channel in the row gets 'kicked off'. This only occurs when I
add the channel in irssi itself, so I've switched to adding the channels
in the config file for now.
It sounds like some sort of maximum was added in

I have a really absurd bug to report. When I quit irssi, and start it
again, one of my channels (added using '/channel add') disappears. So if
I exit and start irssi multiple times, several channels disappear.
1) Ubuntu release: 8.10.
2) irssi
By disappear, I mean that they did no longer appear in my '/channel list', and
I did not autojoin the channels, even though I added them with the -auto
parameter.
settings_autosave is ON.
I tried adding the channel I lost most recently, then joining it, then
/layout save, then /save. It didn't
My apologies for not replying to this bug. I kinda lost sight of it (busy mail
box :p).
The bug has no longer occured for me in Hardy (typing this from Hardy, by the
way), and I'm still using the same laptop.

I put the LiveCD with Ubuntu Feisty Fawn Beta in the computer and load it.
When Gnome loads, it has a screen resolution of 1024x768, instead of the
resolution it can handle: 1280x800.
The correct driver (sis) is loaded in xorg.conf, but xorg.conf doesn't have the
1280x800
Ugh. I've given the source code of dosfstools a short look, but seeing as I
only know Java...

Hi,
I'm having problems during boot, and I'm not sure how to solve them.
Basically, on every boot, file system check hangs while checking /dev/hda1.
Then, the graphical boot dissapears, and I see a root shell.
It then continues to hang for a while, and then boots as usual.

The 'some_number' things I saw probably expressed a 32-bit time (the time
passed since 1970 -- or whatever date is
It falls back into the shell while checking /hda1.
In the shell, I see several things. At the top, there are error messages about
bcm43xx (Damn you, Broadcom!), but they don't seem to make Ubuntu fall back to
the shell.
After that, there's info about checking the file systems:
*Checking root
I have a similar problem in Edgy, only it's not the root filesystem that
causes problems.
My layout is as follows:
Primary: /dev/hda1 FAT32 +-3GB (Acer recovery partition)
Primary: /dev/hda2 FAT32 +-55 GB (Windows partition)
Primary: /dev/hda4 ext2 +-100 MB (/boot)
Logical /dev/hda5 ext3 +- 20 GB
