Suspend has been working fine for a while now (a month or longer?) but
today threw a "general protection fault" when I attempted to suspend.
I've been having intermittent problems with network functionality (WiFi
mainly) after resuming from boot and thought that may be due to the new
iwlagn driver,
Does anyone know how to fix the on-screen display so that it reports
actual brightness instead of some made-up, wrong value when you change
brightness with hotkeys? I suspect that it will require a new bug,
against gnome-power-manager or HAL but I'm not sure what to aim at.

Running up-to-date Hardy, just installed nVidia proprietary drivers to
test bug #95444 and realised that I hadn't tested this bug for ages.
I had a successful resume from suspend while using the nVidia's
proprietary drivers on my Vaio SZ650, so I guess this bug is fixed.

Backlight behaviour in Hardy has changed slightly; now the backlight
indicator (I guess from g-p-m) is shown on the screen in response to Fn-
keys but the rest of the bug is unchanged: still need script, to run
xrandr command and restart acpid.

I agree - I've sent nVidia problems from bug #173652 to this bug. As I
understand it, sony-laptop generates ACPI events for the key-presses but
the script that it calls doesn't do anything to affect backlight
brightness. I'm not sure who's responsible for setting LED backlight:
sony-laptop or nvi

This is still happening in Intrepid alpha 6 - the following calls to
xbacklight were made at intervals of a few seconds, with no manual
adjustment of brightness. It then stabilised at 50% brightness. This
is on AC, so is there some g-p-m interference going on?

This occurred for me on 2 separate, fresh installations of Intrepid
(alphas 4 and 5) with new 'testing' users created during installation
(so there is no carry-over of old user preferences). From memory,
setting a theme fixes the problem, as does enabling desktop effects.

segfaults when I attempt to associate without a CA certificate (none is

Hardy had pretty good support for my ALPS touchpad. Intrepid has made
it ridiculously slow - I get about 1:1 or less cursor movement to
touchpad movement, and acceleration appears not to work. I don't

Hardy, which has Long Term Support, has not had this bug fixed - a pain,
because it is my work system and will be for the next 2 years. So,
while a fix may have been released for Intrepid, it has not been
released for Hardy.

Intrepid is working for me too (with no special modifications), but
rebooting from Intrepid to Hardy has resulted in 3 failed suspends under
Hardy, with the kernel Aiee printed to screen once, a la bug #252270.

Suspend is working fine (so far) on Intrepid alpha 5, however if I
restart from Intrepid back to Hardy and attempt to suspend, I get the
Aieee! again. So this bug is still present in Hardy's (LTS) kernel.

This is much improved in Intrepid alpha 5, Grub now lists Intrepid, XP
and Hardy on my notebook and assigns them to the correct drive. There is
a bit of cruft left in my menu.lst though:

iPlayer. I've installed a whole bunch of crud (including Real Player
11) so can't tell if this bug is still valid or not. There's been no
