Bugs, which is
I just had quite a fight with a clean install of 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon and
applying the updates makes Firefox no longer start.
Turned out the solution was to mark the Firefox related packages to be
reinstalled. Complete details in this thread.
Oh and yes, I have all partitions as xfs other than /boot which is ext3.
Ditto for on one of my clean re-installations Gnome Terminal would not
start as well. This most recent reload, however, that trouble has not
popped up.

Bus error when running Firefox or Epiphany
I have tested again with Ubuntu Desktop / Server 7.04 and both
installers successfully install with /boot being ext3 and all the other
partitions xfs.
I assume the answer would be migrate to 7.04 - this bug report seems
to be a dead issue for Ubuntu.

6.10 Installer refuses due to xfs
So maybe it was having originally selected ext2, as you can reproduce
the Kubuntu bug. I had that as one possible answer in the back of my
mind. I have that box busy at the moment, but if needed I could make it
available to recreate as well.

Upgrading to ubiquity 1.2.6 from edgy-proposed would clear it

One question about this part... I downloaded ISO CD images, so how then
shall I go about upgrading the file?
I will start on the recreates.
