I just tried to install the Intrepid RC.
Near the end of the install, it said Configuring apt: Scanning the
mirror..., and did this for between 3 and 5 minutes.
After the install finished, I opened up Firefox to browse the web, and
it was painfully slow.

It took a while to start up the partitioning step, then ended up
defaulting to resizing my sdb, which was already fully allocated as an
NTFS file system.
My sda was already pre-partitioned with an 80 GB

I assume this is the one I just saw when trying to install Intrepid RC.
It was painfully slow.
Each time I deleted a partition or added a partition, I had to wait
about 30 seconds while it re-scanned the partitions.
I have two SATA drives with simple layouts (sda = SCSI 1: sda1 = 80 GB
ntfs,
Firefox is the wrong package. Things like apt are affected too.
I tried adding ipv6 to the modules blacklist and rebooting, but it still
occurred.
/etc/resolv.conf is correct. tcpdump shows no request for IPv6
records and shows the DNS server responding quickly.

I think you have typed the command wrong.
The symbols around uname -r must be backticks (`) not quotes ('). The
backtick key is next to the 1 key at the top left of the keyboard.
If you still can't get it to work, try changing `uname -r` to $(uname
-r).

I use the fglrx proprietary driver for my ATI Radeon card with the xgl-server,
and it crashes as well when I have all the visual effects turned off.
And yes, I do have a file in /var/crash, and have just reported the bug via
apport. The bug is

I have Ubuntu Gutsy X86_64 version installed and I can't suspend neither

Same issue for me on a clean install of Gutsy RC after installing the
nvidia nonfree driver (which automatically enabled Compiz).
I'm hooked on Alt+Tab and Alt+Shift+Tab, so it would be great for this
to work for the Gutsy release.
Obviously the workaround is to disable Compiz visual effects.

When the interval is very small (30 more or less) the function setInterval
executes the callback function some times and then it stop executing it. It
seems like if an interval event arrives while the last one is being handled
the timer stops.
