[Bug 118800] Re: Passwords should not be required when creating accounts

2009-11-15 Thread Nick Barkas
It looks like Empathy uses the Gnome keyring for storing passwords, so at least they are encrypted when saved (unlike Pidgin). I agree that it would be good to not require password saving. But at least the passwords should not be readable by anyone else even with admin or physical access to the

[Bug 407477] Re: spatd depends on python2.4 in addition to python = 2.4

2009-08-08 Thread Nick Barkas
I think the reason for this is that the zope3 package, which splatd depends on, has python 2.4 as a dependency. I don't know if this could be changed in the zope3 package in hardy, but at least now in jaunty zope3 seems to work with python 2.5. However, the only thing splatd actually needs from

Since I am the upstream author of the changes between the 1.1 and 1.1.1 versions, I'll just summarize here: * The home helper plugin was removed and replaced with a python module called homeutils, which just provides some support functions that can be used by other plugins that deal with home

Attached is the complete package. Getting this as an exception to the UVF would be nice. There was a bug fixed in the 1.1.1 release of Splat which is mentioned here: http://dpw.threerings.net/viewvc/splat?view=revrevision=262. If this can't make it into gutsy, how should I modify this bug to get

[Bug 38271] Re: crashes when trying to open ftp.freebsd.org links from RSS reader

No RSS feeds I have read lately link to ftp sites, but I did find a version of the FreeBSD feed on archive.org from back when it used ftp URLs: http://web.archive.org/web/20060208032458/http://www.freebsd.org/security/advisories.rdf. I removed the javascript archive.org adds from that file and put

I tried this with the version of thunderbird included in feisty, and could not reproduce. The original rss feed I had trouble with (for FreeBSD security advisories) seems to give http URLs now. I tried copying the rdf file to my own machine and changing the URLs to ftp, and thunderbird didn't
