Bla ok need to add a little backround info. So I first noticed this this
morning booting my computer. I have default full disk encryption. On
boot I saw a system crash not sure if it was the same sbin_init one. But
I was at work so I just exited it. But opening nautilous all my files
were gone and
I am pretty sure this is the bug that is keeping me from seeing the full
disk encryption password prompt. I am on a fresh install of the released
version of 13.04. Sorry if this information is not needed just wanted to
point out it was effecting more than the dev branch.

starting the hud so it will work with other applications. I went to system
settings-keyboard-launchers-key to show the hub and pressed backspace to

I can also confirm that by going into compizconfig if you change the
hide setting to fade. Autohide works but it leaves a black line on ths
screen where the right edge of the open launcher would be.

Partially fixed in 11.10 because of the option to decrease the lag to
open the launcher. Still a pain for nub users without using compiz-
settings to change it but much less of an isssue now.

I can not manage to get a crash report to appear i var/crash but I get
this same crash. It has also been reported in the forums and even
reported in the wikipedia acticle for the browser. Here is the output I
get from the terminal. I am using 11.04 It took quite a bit of random

With a nub mouse getting the launcher to appear by mousing the left of
the screen is very difficult. With a nub mouse it is very difficult to
stop exactly at the edge of the screen unlike with a normal or touch pad
mouse. There is bounce effect
Yea I realize that it is just slower because then you have to move the
mouse down to get the icons. Of course you could always use the hot keys
too.
But I consider this basically bugging behavior with a nub mouse as it is
supposed to work but does not.

Ok so I did a little experiment. I went through all the applications in
my Ubuntu menu. Firefox, terminal, gedit, and nautilus had tabs. They
all used ctr-t for new tab and ctr-n for new window except gedit. Well
the terminial used ctr-shift-t for new tab but same idea.

On ubuntu Intrepid using emacs gtk from add/remove
If you use alt-w to copy in emacs you will not be able to paste into
other gnome applications. Specifically I was trying to paste into
Thunderbirds. Using the copy from the menu works but it is slow.

I am using intrepid with the default gedit.
When I am in gedit and press ctr-t a new tab does not open.
ctr-n works but it took me a long time to find and it is not what I am used to
after using firefox for so long.
Perhaps both could be mapped to opening a new tab. Or if
