Kadu is in universe package. They don't care about all stuff that is
there. There are only taking packages from debian and rebuilding them
for current version. Debian doesn;t have unity, so there are no patches
for this DE.
We will try to add some workarounds for ubuntu and release
today/tomorrow

Hello, Kadu Team is aware of this bug. It has been already fixed in
0.9.1 version, which was released on 9th April. 0.9.1 is also available
in Debian sid and can be pushed to Ubuntu directly from repository.
It is bugfixes release, so in our opinion it also could be pushed to
Natty ;)

Ok. From reports on our forum it seems that rebuilding kadu with Qt 4.5
will solve this problem. Try rebuild package:
mkdir ~/kadu-build
cd ~/kadu-build
apt-get source kadu
sudo apt-get install fakeroot dpkg-dev
sudo apt-get build-dep kadu
cd kadu-0.6.5.1
dpkg-buildpackage -us -uc -rfakeroot
