I haven't tested with the mainline kernel (yet, will do later) but it's still an issue with 3.2.0-27-generic. Right now CPU is ~395% idling (two cores with hyper-threading), disk reads and writes are next to zero but the load is 1.7. It may be because of the heat or some change in configuration
