ubuntu-10.10-beta-netbook-i386.iso on three machines. The ISO CD MD5
checksum is correct. When booting a live CD session, system boots to
the background screen, but the mouse pointer and menus never appear.

I seem to remember the Restricted Drivers in Use window appearing.
Otherwise, is:
sudo apt-get install nvidia
sufficient to install all of the required drivers?
I'll work with it some more before uninstalling it, and I'll send you a

This proved to be pilot error. Unknown to me, the Android SDK installed
their own version of the sqlite3 binary, and it was higher in my path
than /usr/bin/sqlite3. Once I re-ordered my path to pick up the correct
binary, the problem went away. Apologies.

I'm seeing this same behavior in the following environment. In the Day
and Work Week views, the recurring events randomly display. In the Week
or Month views, they seem to be more consistently displayed. I'll be

Wanted to confirm on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS same problem, and after following
suggestions above and installing Eclipse from Synaptic rather than the
Ubuntu Software Center (which I believe also filled in installation for

ATI drivers seem to fix the problem for many, my older Radeon Mobility
7500 on a Dell Inspiron 5100 is unsupported by the update and hence
remains unfixed.

Another data point...
I just finished a network upgrade of my Dell Latitude C840 to 10.04
tonight. Wireless didn't work when I rebooted, although I could see all
the access points in my neighborhood. I just couldn't connect.
Doing #86 above worked for me after a couple of reboots, but only
I can confirm this as well on my Dell Inspiron 5100. There were no
issues previous to 10.04, but now the screen remains black after
resuming, and I am forced to hard reboot.

Since I didn't create this ticket, I can't run apport-collect. My
experience with gwibber-2.30.0.1-0ubuntu1 is that it sometimes seems to

I, too, have tried everything with Lucid beta 1 and Lucid beta 2 and

Worked for me as well. However, I have an Intel Series 4 GPU (GM45).
Uninstalled anything with nvidia in the name and it was fixed. Note
that the reversed screen only happens with Desktop Effects enabled.
Disabling desktop effects immediately fixes the screen as well.

Is this something that is likely to be fixed before Lucid goes stable? I
ask mostly because if not, I'd like to change the way a series of my
scripts work, and it'd be nice to know that ahead of time. Thanks!

init script that does the first boot work, removes itself from the
default run level, and then removes itself. There isn't a builtin first
