Reverting from grub2 to grub has also fixed the problem for me on a thinkpad x200t. Previously with grub2, unplugging after suspending reliably caused resume to hang. With grub I've run the experiment at least 10 times with zero occurrence. -- Karmic freezes on resume from suspend Thinkpad
