As requested by Launchpad Janitor on 2008-08-11, I am changing status
from Incomplete to new because the issue still exists (tested it a few
minutes ago, CPU still overheats unless I manually unplug the power
cable). I am running Hardy with all updates applied:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]: ~] uname -a
I have just upgraded to the latest Kernel available (which I guess goes
with Hardy Alpha 4), and the problem has not been solved. There is no
observable change at all.

As suggested in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKernelSuspend, I have
used the echo 1 /sys/power/pm_trace trick before suspending to try
to record debugging info. The output of dmesg after suspending,
attempting to resume, hard rebooting and then booting up in recovery
mode to the command line

Same problem on a Lenovo 3000 N100 0768-6XG, running Hardy Alpha 3:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]: ~] uname -a
Linux mujuno 2.6.24-4-generic #1 SMP Mon Jan 14 17:30:39 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux
Unfortunately my battery is also fried, so the workaround of unplug and
replug the power cord is not available to me
My laptop (that is not resuming from sleep) is a Lenovo 3000 N100
0768-6XG. And I have a vanilla install of acpi-support (no config tweaks
that might have upset S3 suspend.

I'm afraid upgrading to Hardy doesn't fix it for me. I have exactly the

I installed the Hardy kernel () while still running Gutsy as suggested
by Rune Evjen on 2008-01-10. This did NOT solve the problem - my laptop

drive light comes on, the fan activates, but the screen stays dark and

I can confirm that this is also an issue in the Lenovo 3000 N100 with
the (I think) Intel duo T2300 and the latest Feisty upgrades. I can't
confirm whether this was present in Dapper (new laptop) but it has been
occurring from the end of March - it's not related to a recent upgrade.
