Apparently, doing an rmmod appletouch and a modprobe appletouch will fix the
problem until X is restarted.
At that point, the previous behavior returns, and you have to redo the rmmod
and modprobe commands...

I can confirm that patching libata-core.c as described in the
abovementioned link does indeed fix suspend-to-RAM on my first-
generation MacBook - which doesn't work on the Feisty stock kernel. I
made no other changes to the default Feisty kernel and built using the
Ubuntu kernel build procedure

After installing Feisty, I connected my iPod mini with the intent of
synchronizing my song library as I do in iTunes.
Upon connecting my iPod, rhythmbox appeared. It will read my iPod's songs, but
will not write songs to the iPod.
