Unfortunately I cannot find a way to update the bios in this laptop :(
The BIOS exetuble privided by Toshiba, is a windows-only binary and it
doesn't run with a FreeDOS bootable USB.
No windows in this machine, so I guess I will have to stick with the old
working version of the nvidia drivers.

The automated way to fix it using dpkg-reconfigure wireshark-common is
not working for me on 13.04.
I have to run the following commands:
$ sudo -s
$ groupadd wireshark
$ usermod -a -G wireshark yourUserName
$ apt-get install pcaputils
$ chgrp wireshark /usr/bin/dumpcap
$ chmod 750
Exactly same problem here when remote user turns on their video.

madwifi drivers and motherboard interrupts
check your /proc/interrupts to see if there is any conflict (wifi interface is
using the same interrupt with anything else).

I can confirm this bug both for KDE 3.5.9 and KDE 4.1 RC packages.
Even more, when I am trying to copy something over the network using konqueror
or dolphin, I am ending with the not correct filenames.
The same occurs using the Samba protocol through Konqueror and Dolphin.

A workaround that is working for me, is to create a two lines script and place
it under your ~/.kde/Autostart folder.
I have created this file:
/.kde/Autostart/compiz
with the following content:
#!/bin/bash
sleep 5
compiz --replace
Don`t forget to make it executable :)
