Asus Eee Function Keys (Hotkeys) are not working with Lucid 10.04
Just tested my Eee PC 1000 with the release LiveCD, and everything seems
fine except for the screen turning off (Fn+F7). I am curious as to what
makes my model different from everyone else's Eee PCs? If it makes any
difference, my EeePC was the SSD Linux version. I am also using the

Eee PC 1000 using a LiveCD. The eeepc_laptop module did load correctly

the Ubuntu session should not be necessary. What is likely happening
for you is that firefox is taking a little bit of extra time to clean up
after the Java applets upon close. This would be highly dependent upon
the
pixel_juice, you could use the Startup Disk Creator to create a usable
LiveCD version of Lucid on a USB stick. In addition to at least 700MB
for the image, you can allocate additional space that can be used by the
LiveCD to write data to. In this way, you can boot Lucid from a USB
stick and Try

version. The power manager in Karmic does not allow for one to modify
the On Battery screen brightness (except for an option to dim the

harddrive install of Ubuntu to be effecting the LiveCD version of
Ubuntu. From how I read your observations, the LiveCD session freezes
whenever you set the visual effects to Normal. The same is also true

Roger, agreed. Besides, this is probably most likely a graphics driver
issue with regards to some of the work that is being done in the Linux
kernel (the modesetting and such). It is quite likely that it will take
the newer kernels to really address this issue anyway.
Plus, it still leaves
MoCKeR, I believe that the error message is a symptom of the problem.
The dbus would fail to unregister if your session was already dead. It
is likely that we would need the entire error log in order to find the
source of the issue. You can easily attach it to this bug report.
