Public bug reported:
I've used XBMC for many years. When it starts, it scans the library it
knows, looking for new stuff.
But now it doesn't, on the version in Precise (12.04). Edit any files
entry to point to media. Check the box that says scan this area on
startup and end the edit normally.
Ya know, when you're the only one reporting an obvious bug, and it's
4am? Double check yourself.
Sorry, guys. I thought I had a real one- I don't. I'm just an idiot,
and God saw fit to remind me. There's an enable scan at startup that
I'd forgotten all about. Under settings-library I believe.
I have several, Ubuntu Precise (12.04) on built-in Intel machines with
this same corruption. It also effects the wallpaper over time, somehow.
It's pretty debilitating across an entire day...
Thanks guys!

I'm afraid I have to say Me too, and attach to this bug report.
Maybe it's early to get into it, but when I record from an ANALOG mike (since
the USB's unavailable) the SoundRecorder's playback sounds like mice talking.
I've no idea why this would be, but Onery Ocelot has brought MANY little,
SORRY: In my case the webcam (video) is properly identified, but the
mike is wrong. I have two choices, internal or webcam mike, and I
have to switch back-n-forth several times just to get the illusion of it
working: once I open an app (GoogleTalk) it's clear it's not working.
But I think this
I'm afraid I'm involved in this, too.
I have one of those nice Logitech webcam 250s that comes with a mike.
It's SPLENDID. Simple, in the right place, and nothing to tinker- just
plug and play. Until now.
I can fiddle with the controls (internal audio versus usb mike) and it acts
like I'm
Sorry, I have it, too. I'm limited to LTS only; when a new version of
qbittorrent came in, I was a little excited- they're doing interesting
things...then it stopped working at all with:
brianf@skat2:~$ qbittorrent

SORRY GUYS! RED HERRING:
I didn't realize I was using a version from a PPA. Ow.
I was using:
ppa.launchpad.net/hydr0g3n/ppa/ubuntu
When I backed out that change, and 'played by the rules' everything was
fine. Sorry to have troubled you.

It seems to be PA-related. Since my last post, I've seen all kinds of
programs hang-on-exit, including FlightGear and others. Something's not
getting released, but I'm no expert.
I'm highly available; if someone wants me to help, I'm almost always
free, AND inclined to help.

Firefox hangs
I'm not having this in Firefox (yet). Around noon today I exited
Civilization: CTP. It's past 10PM now, and it's not actually finished
ending. I run it in a window because upon exiting various programs,
the program hangs, and it still appears in the nice, new Sound
Preferences application.
You might also spend some time with GPSDrive; it's a German project
that's bilingual. It's quite mature with lots of nice features like the
GPS daemon that lets everything in the car use the GPS. (Or in my case,
the trailer.)

Not only Yes, but is there some manual workaround for it? My
understanding of certificates is on-par with my understanding of how
network television shows are picked. :)
NetworkManager (0.7) mentions a User Certificate, is this what they're
talking about?
