It seems I have a similar issue.
After resume a connection dialog appears where the (correct) password is
given. Connecting is still not possible (the dialog reappears in a loop,
no connection established).
Cancelling and connecting from the menu works fine.

dpkg-reconfigure virtualbox-dkms claims to recompile (I don't have the output

I work around this by reinstalling virtualbox.

Installed printer using HP device manager (which works fine).
Scanning from simple-scan works fine as long as I scan single pages
(from the flatbed scanner)
If I want to scan from the feeder (and set the scanner to duplex
I'm stuck somewhere in the middle.
a) I have installed Ubuntu natively on my Mac. No OS X installed.
b) I can boot from an external drive. I have OS X 10.11.3. This OS fixes the
BIOS on the fly.
c) I cannot install the BIOS updates that both you or Apple supplies as they
require OS X 10.9.5
There was no more in the syslog. (well at least not for another few
minutes)

We experimented with different modem sticks. Only a very old one got the

I could verify this situation with a Windows client. I doubt there is
anything that can be done. If two networks share the same IP range with
two different default gateways and different dns name spaces, not even

I recently had a similar issue in 15.10 and want to share my experience:
The symptoms: Timeouts and connection termination after some minutes. I
used openconnect vpn connector.
After several experiments I figured the source of the problem being that

I redirected python3 to python3.5 (ln -s)
I ran hplip-3.15.11.run which analyses and compiles the libraries according to
the underlying system.
It worked fine.

The log messages suggest that the compilation uses python 2.6 (I have
2.7 as default, which indicates
If this holds true, I should be able to fix this issue by completly
wiping hplip and reinstall it with python3.5 set.

Reason I found is that the stick registers as USB storage as well and
then is not recognized as modem.

First, congratulation for this quick fix.
Second, sadly enough, VPN connections - which seemed to be working with
the broken kernel - do not work any more. Another issue, I know but I
was hoping :-)

Repetitively with new versions this issue arises:
Network Manager looses the connection. The list of SSIDs and APs includes a
subset of APs that were there before the disconnect.
Reconnection results in a permanent connection establishing effort with no
