The newest kernel version 2.6.27-7.12-generic seems to have fixed the issue. Kubuntu now sees the whole disk size and does not corrupt it when booting. Thanks to whoever fixed it. Can this bug be recommended for closure? -- EXT3 file system gets corrupted w/ 2.6.27

Just a quick update. You can scratch of the SATA to IDE adapter as being part of the problem. I attached the IDE disk directly to one of the IDE ports on the motherboard and I still got the same issue. I can boot perfectly with 2.6.24-19 but 2.6.27 results in all of the above messages... Just a
