To let you know that you are not alone.. I experienced the not starting
nmbd in maverick and natty also. My workaround is to restart it via
rc.local like:
sleep 30
service nmbd restart

Same error here with a data-cd. Few Mp3s with a total of 306 MB should be
burned.
Brasero also shortened the filenames to be compatible with windows.
Speed was 10x and 24x, same results.
Validation fails and it says that it could not eject.
I still have to enable the block all but these contacts privacy option
manually.
This has to be done everytime pidgin is restarted to make the invisble
option work as expected.

I had to add a new group on facebook. I put all my friends in it and
empathy shows them now under the specific group.
It's strange that empathy offers grouping my facebook contatcs when i

binary from nvidia or using someone's ppa.

The problem only occurs when there is a new faulty message -after- you have
followed someone.
At leat, as described above, it's a workaround to re-follow.
I will try following a few users where i know gwibber had problems

Harm reputation is the most correct way to describe it!
Such small showstoppers have to be fixed. Its about the overall feeling using
an OS.
And this bug is not a new one..

There are even programs like vpnautoconnect on SF that try to fix this.
So this bug has not

Checking Connect automatically in the configurations tab of VPN connections
does nothing.
It's like that for at least a year now.
I would like to see it connecting to my VPN after a wireless/wired
internet connection was activated.
This is still an issue in maverick.
