I have a similar problem. For me the Ubuntu 20.04 installer would
consistently crash at 90% (regardless of which hard drive I installed it
to). When I followed the instructions to report the bug, it led me here.
I was able to circumvent the problem by choosing "minimal installation"
and NOT

While the option visual feedback for program start*) in the properties of a
starter object in the xfce4-panel is set, there is no change of the mouse
cursor while the program loads.
Same behavior at program start from whisker menu.
This is very annoying on slow machines.

It seems to work better, but there are still small interruptions, loss
of contact at times without reconnecting, not in par with Phonostar or
my various web-radios. At times a message tells me, that I should get a
plug-in in order to play a station I have played many times, when

Last time around it was the package of fonts that won't install, in
other instances some updates using this package won't install, I am
sorry that I can not be more specific. I really would like to go to the
bottom of this, but alas I am not knowledgeable enough... spent to much

For what it's worth, I've been having the same problem the last few
versions. Scrolling the theme app distorts the window view port and
sometimes crashes some panel applets or the entire panel altogether.
