Using 32 bit kernel 3.5.0-39-generic on latest thinkpad X230 with 16 GB

- downgrade to kernel

I found this bug because I am observing the padding effects (although to
other multiples of 4K). To me this is filesystem corruption plain and
simple. The only conclusion is that ecryptfs in lucid (LTS) is buggy
and should not be used. This is somewhat disappointing as it was stable
on karmic.

So it seems to be an issue with nvidia.
I am using the proprietary driver, version 185. Is it advisable to use
the open source drivers? Is this nouveau? Otherwise, what consumer
cards
BTW I neither use nor like compiz, so I guess 3D acceleration is not a
concern for me.

the upgrade to inspect the differences. The most recent pam upgrade
