chrome becames very slow in scrolling and loading pages when multiple chrome
I think the patch will be never backported to the kernel 3.19 and ubuntu 14.04.
Probably you should consider update to 16.04, it should be reasonably smooth

after further googling it turned out these up-right and bottom-right top
shortcuts for middle and right button are default in Ubuntu (and not specific
of our trackpad).
So the new driver is working as expected.

Hello,
I was affected by the a similar bug on a dell XPS M1330 since the upgrade to
12.04 (with nvidia graphics and nouveau drivers).
In particular closing the lid with Do nothing when lid is closed in the
power settings was always leaving me with a unusable desktop session after

Thanks to an advice from Brian who sent me a private message. I found a
solution to make suspend/resume working on Maverick with standard kernel
2.6.35:
Add the line:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=acpi_sleep=nonvs
to
/etc/default/grub
Then make:
sudo update-grub
and reboot
Suspend/resume should work now
People still having problems with suspend/resume may also try this
(thanks to Brian who sent me this advice)

In my dell precision M4500 with ubuntu 10.10 64bits problem is still
present.
I tried also kernel 2.6.36 from:

without luck. The above kernel solves other suspend/resume problems on dell
M4500 (bug 563318).
Applying the patch from
I found this workaround on the web:
1) sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf
2) add the following at the end of the file:
options snd-hda-intel model=dell-s14
3) restart and the internal microphone should work.
It works for maverick 64-bits and probably also for lucid

I confirm that suspend/resume works very well on my dell precision M4500
with kernel 2.6.36 just released and ubuntu 10.10 amd64. It was not

as I said in my message of 2010-02-05 the bug disappeared in karmic after the
kernel release 2.6.31-19.
I tested also with lucid release candidate kernel 2.6.32-21-generic and my disk
is working correctly.

Hello,
after installing latest kernel update in Karmic 2.6.31-19 my external hard disk
was correctly recognized again.
I was able to re-create an empty partition (ext4) on the disk and to mount
correctly it.
So I would say that the bug was solved in kernel 2.6.31-19
