thanks for your intereste in the bug. Have been using the drive via USB all
the time in the past, so I don't have any recent experience with the firewire
behavior. But I will test ist again and let you know the results. Might take a
few days, though.

More info - really, really want to get around this bug, as I need
evolution in my company to be able to use the exchange server there. I
currently use gnome3, and I actually quite like the user interface
except for only a very few things that one obviously cannot change. But

Ok, the work around is only of limited value, as I also experience other
keyboard and mouse click input failures similar to this bug:

The whole thing might be related to this bug with the color picker,
which I can reproduce
Found a workaround:
When the appointment dialog does not accept any more input go to the evolution
main window, right click the calendar and choose 'new appointment' again. Then
a second appointment dialog is opened and now you can interact with both
appointment dialogs again. Now you can save

When I connect my firewire harddisk and switch it on, Kubuntu 11.04 does
not recognize it. /var/log/syslog shows these error messages:
[ 2605.289475] firewire_ohci: node ID not valid, new bus reset in progress
[ 2614.797413] firewire_core: skipped bus generations, destroying
