I did a complete reinstall and now this problem has gone away. Not sure
what happened. I had used Computer Janitor on my broken install, so
maybe that had deleted an important file.

The add-on that is causing the problem is ubuntu firefox modifactions
0.9rc2. After I disabled this add-on, I can connect normally. The only
other add-on I use is Adblock Plus with Easylist. I tried with AP on and
off with Ubuntu mods on, no effect. I then turned it on and off with
ubuntu mods
In addition, I connect my cable internet through a Dynex e-401 router.

I am using xubuntu Intrepid alpha 6 (current as of 20 Sep 08). Xubuntu

I figured out what was wrong. For some reason, I have to actually go
into the toolbar and assign the bookmarked webpage somewhere, or it
won't work. I guess this extra step makes sense to someone in Mozilla.
Personally, I'm finding Firefox3 to be worse than IE so far. I'm really

I installed new on beta hardy. It takes over a minute
to even bring up the login screen. It just has the
Ubuntu bar going for over a minute. I assumed that

Umm, I managed to fix the sound problem on my own. Though I'm curious
why Ubuntu has Surround Sounded muted by default, as this was the
problem. It's also hidden when you check the sound parameters by the
speaker on the task bar. I had to find it using preferences.

Brasero is not in Synaptic or Add/Remove, so I can't
try it. I think it's to do with this computer, as I
burned CD's with another computer using Feisty with no
problems. I assume the CD Burner is not in the Linux
setup somehow. I've had numerous other problems with
Feisty and this acer as3680, as
I installed brasero, and it appeared to work fine at
first. However, when I put the CD back in to test it,
I got:
