Hi Christopher,
I updated the bios and tried the wireless adapter. I have not tested it
exhaustively but it is not working right. Connection is slow and all. (I
ran the codes my bios was F9 and I updated it to F10)
To solve this problem I installed development kernels, various driver
packages,
The workaround may have worked after the restart. I do not have the
problem any longer.

When I run lsmod both R8712u and R8169 are loaded.
There is a workaround for this problem.
I added
SUSPEND_MODULES=r8712u
to the /etc/pm/config.d/config and that solved the problem.

The latex plugin gets installed under /usr/share/gedit-2 folder instead
of /usr/share/gedit folder. Unless you move the plugin to the proper
place it wont work.
I observed this under Ubuntu 11.10 64 bits

I installed the package in debian repos. It got installed under gedit-2
too. I moved the contents to gedit folder. Nothing changed...

In the preferences window, Synchronization tab if I select Ubuntu One a
grayed out button will say authenticating but nothing happens. If I
click save a pop-up
