I have a similar problem with lvm. But I don't know if it's the same. Sometimes (very often indeed) during boot process, my lvm volumes are mounted but empty ! Of course, I'm unable to access to my desktop. After some boots, my volumes are good and all works fine. dmesg not show anything. --
