It happens for me too with an Intel integrated video card. The error
occurs when spotify tries to load advertisements or the header part for
a playlist. I don't know if the error is connected to the video driver
at all. Im on ubuntu 14.10.

I actually managed to restart the network with
sudo rmmod rt73usb
sudo modprobe rt73usb
(as the rt2x00usb is used by this module)

mod was removed and added again.

I noticed this error on Ubuntu 13.04 beta, using an own desktop environment.
(maybe it affects unity, but it uses a different titlebar for maximised
windows, might be hard to notice)

Well this error was caused by the system itself. I used 32 bit ubuntu on
a 64 bit machine. Usually this shouldn't be a problem, but it look like
it is.. I installed the 64 bit version, and since then I haven't had
the errors.

Ocassionaly frequent load-unload cycles happens under Oneiric 11.10 Beta 1
usually when watching youtube.
This happened from 10.04 and up on every ubuntu distro. 10.04 clearly tried to
kill my hard drive, fortunately the never versions are less cruel :) As I know
there still isn't a 100%
I usually writehdparm -B 254 /dev/sda to the /etc/rc.local to set
the APM 254 or 255, so if laptop-mode-tools only do the same
unfortunately it won't be enough.

I was searching after this libgobect-2.0, and found a forum where they said
libgobject-2.0 is a part of the libglib2.0-dev package.
So I made a
sudo apt-get install libglib2.0-dev
it installed ~5400 kb of new packages. Since then I haven't had that error. I

I noticed that problem. Actually it happened to me every day at 00:00.
When I entered killall gnome-panel in the console, it restarted and
worked fine. So I think the problem is the mindight time.
