I have just upgraded to maverick that uses kernel 2.6.35-19-generic.
It is unstable. The mouse stops moving, typed keys fail to appear for a number

Previously on Lucid, I was using kernel 2.6.32-24-generic. That kernel has no

I tried the nouveau drivers in Lucid. They fail to display anything at all, so
it not a valid alternative for my graphics card at the moment. It just returned
back to the text display saying there are problem with X.

kernel boot option "radeon.modeset=0" fixed it for me.
I can reproduce the problem 100% by selecting a particular menu in mythtv.

I have noticed a difference between previously and now.
The place where it fails is now different.
grep i915_gem kern.log
Previously:
Sep 4 16:53:50 tecra kernel: [ 600.412367] []

i915_gem_retire_work_ha
The call trace does not appear immediately.
One has to wait 2 minutes after the display freezes before the call trace is
placed in the log.

The system does suspend.
The system also resumes to the point where one can ssh into it.
On resume the video display is corrupt.
Using "ssh" to force a "poweroff" from the remove machine causes the above Call
Traces.
