upgrade from 14.04 repeatedly failed. So, I just did a fresh install.

I have one sort of typical problem, and one very strange problem, both related
to the audio.
First the typical one, because, clearly, the strange one is the headlining act
here.
Typical kind of problem: My system keeps changing from audio line out,
to hdmi out as the

On Kubuntu 12.04.01 I had my settings to restart previous session on
boot. It has now happened a couple of times where the desktop becomes
very dysfunctional upon login---the tray was frozen, many programs would

I have this bug. Here is a workaround!
Using KDE 3.5 on Ubuntu 8.04
The workaround is simple: Choose Use another style in the GTK Styles
and Fonts dialog.
In KDE, this would be here:
K-Menu-Settings-Control Center-Appearance themes-GTK Styles and
Fonts-GTK Styles (the first box in the dialog)

I like to have my window close button in the upper-left corner of my
windows, ala Mac OS.
Alltray seems to assume that the close button is always going to be
located in the upper-right corner of the window.
When I click on the close button, the

now fixed.
Another aspect of the problem was that the saved passwords list
(Edit-Preferences-Privacy-Passwords) was *BLANK*! But when I updated
the browser, the saved passwords list was restored.
