Hello Joseph,
your kernel resolves this bug.
I'v installed them in a ubuntu 16.04 guest running in a 5.1.0 virtualbox
on a windows 7 host.
The ubuntu guest, configured to use usb 3.0 xhci controller, now boots
normally. The guest can access usb memory sticks normally.
Kind regards,
Martin

Hello Ryan and Alberts,
I figured out what was wrong.
Actually, gnome does start just fine by just running:
usr/bin/gnome-session --session=gnome-flashback --disable-acceleration-check
The screen resolution did not adjust to the monitor i am using and the
menu just happened to be off screen.
Hello Ryan and Alberts,
I double-checked and I do have the mentioned versions of the relevant packages
installed:
- gnome-session-bin 3.9.90-0ubuntu12.1
- libgnome-desktop-3-7 3.8.4-0ubuntu3.1
I logged into NX using gnome-terminal. From there I run:
/usr/bin/gnome-session
Hello,
I am a bit confused on what to expect with the bug fixes that just have
been released.
I have NX version 3.5 installed on a Ubuntu 14.04 server. I have just
install the relevant version of the packages discussed above.
I can login successfully running the following command
I had this problem on Ubuntu 14.04 with Fail2Ban v0.8.11.
Using backend = polling in /etc/fail2ban/jail.local seems to work for
me.

I think I am experiencing the same bug (Ubuntu 12.04 on a system with
Intel sandy bridge). Perhaps I can help with providing some data during
freeze?
