While it is obviously better in our context to stimulate the users to
use free software, I too live in Brazil and depend on this package to
access my bank website and I think that it would be a barrier to the
entry of new users in Brazil (and maybe other countries too) to remove
this package from
Ok, just to update on this bug, I managed to get ustream to work in a
Kubuntu Karmic 64bit box so here it goes. Found these instructions in
the webcamstudio webpage (http://www.ws4gl.org/):

After reinstalling b43-fwcutter, the broadcom driver appears as
activated in Hardware Drivers. However, the problem is now identical to
the top poster (i.e. wireless doesn't show in knetworkmanager)

I'm having this problem in Kubuntu Karmic Alpha 3 64-bit using the
2.6.30-8-generic kernel. Hardware drivers shows the B43 broadcom
wireless driver but when I click on activate, nothing happens. I have
Jaunty 64-bit installed in the same machine and it works flawlessly
there.
