I can't even run a terminal window to do TOP. Slow response has become

Natty with Unity and two
I use an Asus 1000 eeepc, with an Acer al1511 screen attached as a twin-head to
get extra width. The Asus, like many laptops and netbooks, uses Fn-F8 to
switch between several modes.
1. Just netbook screen - Unity works fine.
2. Just Acer (outboard) screen - fails to renegotiate window size
-kernel-server, and it doesn't list nfs-utils.
