Did you ever use CPAN to install any perl modules on your system?
I my case _I_think_ that may have been the source of my problem.
I did some locate and find searches and I found I had the sax files in
different locations.
I decided (perhaps not correctly) that those in /usr/local/

reboot was more than a week after the upgrade.
