Trying to generate a backtrace with gdb (--sync seemed to not work):
(unity-settings-daemon:28533): Gdk-ERROR **: The program
'unity-settings-daemon' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'XI_BadDevice (invalid Device parameter)'.
The attached crash report for unity-settings-daemon gets generated
after the screen is returned by xrandr.

The "Maximum number of clients reached" error seems indeed to be
independent from the unity-settings-daemon crash.

Great, as suggested in #6 I installed the plugin from Debian. Just download the
deb file from a mirror[0] and install it (double clicking should open the
software center). Works for me.
Hopefully the plugin gets updated in Ubuntu as well, latest with the next
version. :) Not really user
The dependencies might need to be adjusted as well. I just tried to
compile and install manual, but couldn't get it running. I get an error
due a missing python3 dbus dependency exactly as described in [0].
Nevertheless I do have the package python3-dbus installed! So there
seems to be another
edit: running final version of Ubuntu 13.10
If anybody can get the plugin running by compiling/installing manual,
please leave a note here so that we can use it for the time being until
an update happens...

I have not much knowledge about this stuff, but as I experienced a huge
increase of gpu hanges in the last days too (probably after the same
kernel update as mentioned here) and the automatically bug reportage
seems to not work (some problems with the /usr/share/apport/apport-gpu-
error-intel.py)
In favor of closing it, I would like to see some progress here. :)
I believe the importance for digital signing will increase in future.
Maybe the poppler team could ask the developers/companies of the big
linux distributions for help?

I have to agree with dajare, a system wide clipboard manager is really a
missing feature. I often get confused why I can't paste something I
copied, forgetting that I closed the source. In my point of view
installing one by default is a must have and not a nice to have.
